In these conversations, I talk to members of the chronic pain / TMS community, to discover what worked for them in their stress illness recovery. Watch the video above or click through to YouTube using the button below the video, to watch there if you prefer.
In this episode, I talk to Chazmith Newton, whose TMS symptoms began when she was just 7-8 years old. Over the years, Chazmith developed more and more symptoms including restless sleep with nightmares, migraines, chronic yeast infections/candida, stomach & digestive issues (IBS/SIBO), hypersensitivities to temperature, sound, smell, food & light; systemic pain & inflammation - tension and tightness through the body, CFS, irregular periods & PMS, anxiety and chronic sinus issues.
Chazmith's recovery journey is fascinating; her healing started after reading Dr Sarno's book 'Healing Back Pain' but the true healing came about after discovering DNRS, Dynamic Neural Retraining System. DNRS is a brain rewiring programme which consists of redirecting your focus to indifference, redirecting pathways that do not support healing and visualisations. Visualisations are a really powerful tool to gradually teach your brain that triggers aren't dangerous.
We also discuss laughter as a tool for healing; something I think we all could do with more of at the moment! Chazmith has her own podcast with beautiful stories from those who have recovered from chronic illness. Her podcast, Our Power Is Within, can be found here.
Thank you Chazmith for sharing your wisdom and healing story! Please do check out DNRS if you think this approach could help you.
I hope you enjoy this video and testimony! If you'd like to submit your story for this series, please click here, whether you're comfortable on camera or not, I would love to hear from you.
