Medical Practitioner
A certified Internist for nearly 40 years, Dr Schubiner is a prominent advocate of using Mind-Body medicine and therapies to treat chronic pain symptoms. He is the author of several books including 'Unlearn Your Pain', and his latest work, entitled 'Unlearn Your Anxiety and Depression'. He has also been featured in a recent film release called 'This Might Hurt' that follows three chronic pain patients who have each spent years trying to cure their symptoms through modern medicine, without success.
Previous to his medical career Dr Schubiner practised mindfulness and meditation teaching, which later served as the perfect combination of spiritual connection and mind-body medicine approach to offer to his patients and students of his work.
Dr Schubiner is one of the leading physicians in the mind-body chronic pain management world. His procedures follow the same principles that Dr Sarno taught, including carefully assessing each patient for diagnosis then addressing the patient's mindset and emotional regulation. He writes regular blog posts, talks at specialist events and participates in Curable's live webinars and other online content such as podcast interviews regularly.
Dr Schubiner's website is packed with great information, including a TMS diagnosis test, tonnes of inspirational case studies and of course his popular online course.
Check out the interview of Dr Chatterjee with Dr Schubiner on chronic pain and why these factors are so important to understand. It's a brilliant episode on Dr Chaterjee's podcast Feel Better Live More.
