Hi, thanks for stopping by! My name is Dani Fagan and this is my story.
In 2015 I experienced the onset of crippling back pain that debilitated me for around 3 years until stumbled upon the work of Dr John Sarno and his 'Healing Back Pain' book. At the time I couldn't walk very far or sit upright and sometimes even had to use a wheelchair to get around. It was a long difficult road that had many ups and downs for a couple of years, but eventually, I found a set of tools and techniques online that lead me into a journey of self-discovery and healing that continues to blow my mind every day.
If you've read my Recovery Journey Roadmap you will know much about my story already but my recovery included a mixture of learning, daily emotional excavation in the form of journaling called JournalSpeak, meditation and mindset retraining. I got back to physical activity without fear in the form of yoga - which was an integral part of my journey.

I am a fully qualified yoga teacher and member of the International Yoga Alliance. The more I learned and practised yoga meditation and breathwork the more I felt the many incredible benefits. With regular practice, you can train your brain to refocus inwards, to become still and calm at will, to teach your body to let-go and encourage it into our own innate healing environment where the nervous system has a chance to re-regulate.
Yoga became my full-time obsession and was critical to my daily practice of getting out fight-or-flight mode that was keeping me stuck in survival mode full of distress, pain and anxiety. The well-known physical benefits such as increased strength and flexibility were secondary honestly, but the regular physical activity taught my brain to focus on the present moment and understand that movement was safe. My belief in my body's capability grew consistently over time.
I've walked every step of the TMS healing path myself, from the depths of depression and debilitating pain, through the various phases of healing to my new life as a yoga teacher and mind-body healing advocate. Everything changed for me through this journey and yoga was a huge part of that for me. I am thrilled to be able to now share this knowledge and experience with you, in person, in a safe and personal space where we can share experiences, fears, concerns, recovery questions and create a face-to-face community of like-minded people heading towards the same goal.
I'm happy to report that I am now completely chronic pain-free and rarely experience any anxiety. Looking back, I can now see that I experienced varied TMS symptoms throughout my life such as anxiety, migraines, insomnia, gut issues and palpitations. These days if I ever get a back pain symptom flare (rarely), I usually know exactly what has caused it, how to get rid of it and it will be gone within the same day.
Since recovering, I have felt compelled to share the steps I took to heal, in an attempt to pave the path for others do the same. I know how hard it is, I know how alone you can feel and how it can negatively impact you psychologically too, but there is a way out.
I live by the sea in England with Stevie, the love of my life and our three crazy cats, I feel like a completely different person since coming through this, the pain relief has been just one of the amazing side-effects of this emotional self-discovery work.
