Physiotherapist
Georgie Oldfield is the founder of SIRPA™ (Stress Illness Recovery Practitioners’ Association), the first group in the UK & Europe to adopt the TMS approach to chronic pain treatment. Being based in the UK myself, although I haven't been treated by Georgie, it felt only fitting to promote SIRPA's presence and multiple services both to TMS practitioners and to the TMS community as a whole.
Georgie is a Physiotherapist by profession but it was her refusal to accept that chronic pain could only be treated physically which lead to her to the pioneering work of Dr John Sarno. Becoming increasingly frustrated with how frequently patients’ symptoms didn’t conform to any physical diagnoses, finally, Sarno’s TMS theories answered all the questions to her patient's concerns and her own chronic pain issues.
Georgie works closely with experts and practitioners in the US attending various TMS summits and conferences and has developed close links with other leaders in the field, such as their sister organisation, the PPD Association, combining efforts to raise the profile of this work worldwide. She has also organised and hosted the last two conferences held in this field here and continues to be the leading voice for TMS in the UK.
SIRPA offers training to practitioners across the UK and also globally to help educate and spread the life-changing work of Dr Sarno far and wide.
