Eddy is a well-known name in the mind-body community. As a competitive weight lifter and Crossfitter, Eddy sustained a shoulder injury that lead him through years of specialists, physical therapy and eventually surgery. Yet months into his recovery, he started to get pain in his back, all sorts of nerve pain, numbness and even Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
Luckily by chance one of his doctors mentioned that his issues could be stress-related, which opened a door to a whole new world of possibilities for recovery for him. He stumbled across Dr Sarno's book - Healing Back Pain, and thus started his journey into TMS recovery. During this time, he started a podcast about his love for everything fitness and wellness, then because of his own struggle with chronic conditions and TMS, the podcast quickly shifted into a TMS themed show.
Eddy is a huge advocate for movement and fitness during TMS recovery, he is literally walking talking evidence that exercise is key to teaching the brain that you are safe and not damaged and he is a huge motivator for so many struggling with the fear of getting back to exercise.
He has interviewed many TMS experts on his podcast including author Steve Ozanich, Nicole Sachs LCSW, Dan Buglio, Dr David Schechter, Dr Howard Schubiner, along with a whole host of other TMS recoverees, TMS therapists and doctors. There are hundreds of fabulous episodes to binge on. I found Eddy's podcast fairly recently, but like many others, he has encouraged me to take up a more intense exercise programme that I was previously fearful of and now I am a huge fan of his weekly show!
I also had the honour of being invited on for an interview, check it out here - Dani Fagan from My TMS Journey Interview.
Eddy also runs a private Facebook group for all things TMS, check it out: TMS - The Mindbody Syndrome.
Thank you for such fabulous encouraging no-bull content Eddy, your approach is incredibly refreshing and approachable, I love it!
