Hi, thanks for stopping by! My name is Dani Fagan, and this is my story.
In 2015, I was struck by debilitating back pain that persisted for approximately three years. My mobility was severely limited; I struggled to walk short distances, couldn't sit upright, and sometimes required a wheelchair. Discovering Dr John Sarno and his 'Healing Back Pain' book marked a turning point. While recovery was a challenging process with setbacks, I eventually found a combination of online resources and techniques that facilitated a profound journey of self-discovery and healing, the positive effects of which continue to resonate with me today.
If you've read my Recovery Journey Roadmap you will know a lot about my story already, but my recovery included a mixture of learning, daily emotional exploration in the form of journaling called JournalSpeak, meditation and mindset retraining. I got back to physical activity without fear in the form of yoga, which was an integral part of my journey and led me to feeling safe and at home in my body for the first time.

As a fully qualified trauma-informed yoga teacher, certified sound healer, and member of the International Yoga Alliance, I've personally experienced the profound benefits of yoga, meditation, sound and breathwork. Regular practice cultivates inner focus, stillness, and calm, encouraging the body to release tension and access its innate healing capacity, allowing the nervous system to re-regulate.
For me, yoga became a crucial tool for escaping the chronic fight-or-flight response that had trapped me in survival mode, filled with distress, pain, and anxiety. While increased strength and flexibility were welcome side effects, the primary benefit was learning to ground myself in the present moment and rediscover the safety of movement, fostering a renewed belief in my body's capabilities.
Having navigated my own journey through depression and debilitating pain to a new life as a yoga teacher and mind-body healing coach, I'm passionate about sharing this knowledge and experience. My yoga resources are now a big part of my Mind-Body Mastery Membership.
I'm happy to report that I am now completely chronic pain-free. Looking back, I can now see that I experienced varied mind-body symptoms throughout my life and just like every single human on the planet, still do. Things like anxiety, headaches, and insomnia occasionally occur.
Since recovering, I have felt compelled to share the steps I took to heal, to help pave the path for others to do the same. I know how hard it is, I know how alone you can feel and how it can negatively impact you psychologically, too, but there is a way out.
I live by the sea in England with Stevie, the love of my life and our two crazy cats. I feel like a completely different person since coming through this, the pain relief has been just one of the amazing side-effects of this healing and self-discovery work.
