If you've never tried Yoga Nidra before, you're in for a treat! It's basically a super relaxing long meditation, involving visualisation, body awareness techniques and intention affirmation mantras that are absorbed deep into the subconscious as you enter into a dreamlike state of meditation.
This is a sample from one of my recent yoga classes, Yoga Nidra is now part of my regular live classes schedule in my Yoga for TMS program.
This class is called Nourishing Nidra - (Level 0), which means there is no sitting, standing or significant movement going on at all. This class is for fully surrendering the body and mind, for winding down, and taking a deep dive inwards yet still conscious and aware to absorb the healing benefits of the practice, allowing the nervous system to settle gently into full-on rest and repair (if you can stay awake that is!) Ideal for anyone experiencing problems moving, sitting or just wants a fully immersive meditation experience.
Grab your headphones, find a warm and comfortable spot to lie down, prop some pillows under your knees and head and just listen. Perfect to practice before bedtime.
