In these conversations, I talk to members of the chronic pain / TMS community, to discover what worked for them in their stress illness recovery. Watch the video above or click through to YouTube using the button below the video, to watch there if you prefer.
This week I interviewed the lovely Phil de la Haye, a fellow TMS survivor and total badass guy. This conversation was fun, heartfelt, heavy, serious, sad, enlightening and mega inspiring all in one breath. I think you're going to love it.
Phil's story is one of incredible courage and strength as he's experienced a myriad of symptoms, hurdles and struggles throughout his life. Back pain was the loudest symptom he had that really made him sit up and take notice of what was going on in his body and finally lead him to this mind-body work. But his laundry list of symptoms has been vast and spread over many years. Hip pain, shoulder and neck pain, joint pain, Achilles pain, vertigo, eczema, psoriasis, numbness, tingling, recurring yeast infections, nerve pain, anxiety, you name it - he experienced it.
Phil shares his story from such a vulnerable place, but with such grace and strength, it literally brought me to tears. With a combination of Curable's brain science teaching and podcasts, Nicole Sachs' JournalSpeak method, my yoga for TMS classes, meditation, inner child work, running, hiking and plenty of brave self-inquiry Phil has completely turned his life around. A full-on 180º. His passion and knowledge for mind-body medicine has lead him onto life coach training and SIRPA mind-body medicine training, coupled with his degree in psychology, his background in teaching and counselling, Phil's landed in a place now where he is offering his experience and knowledge to help others heal from TMS in the form of a life and mind-body coach.
He was also previously a guest on Nicole Sachs' podcast The Cure for Chronic Pain, as a "real-time heal" patient. Check out that episode here.
